Material selection
We install GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning, and other major manufacturer shingles. Architectural style is standard, cool roof rated options available.
Tear off and underlayment
Old shingles removed to deck, deck inspected and repaired, new synthetic underlayment installed, ice and water shield at valleys.
Install and warranty registration
Starter strip, shingles, ridge cap, flashing, ventilation, and ridge vent installed. Manufacturer warranty registered in your name.

Composition shingle is the workhorse roof in Los Angeles. Most single family homes built in the last 60 years have shingle on at least the main slopes, and for good reason. Architectural shingles last 25 to 30 years in LA's mild climate, install in 2 to 4 days on a typical home, are easy to repair when damage happens, and come in dozens of colors and profiles. Done right, a shingle roof is the highest value choice for most LA homeowners.

We are not loyal to one supplier because each manufacturer has strengths and weaknesses in specific conditions. For a home near the coast, certain shingles handle salt air better. For a home in a brush zone, Class A fire rated shingles are required by code. We pick the right shingle for your house, not the one we happen to have a discount on this month.
The installation matters more than the brand. A premium shingle installed with the wrong fasteners, wrong nail placement, or missing starter strip will fail in five years. A standard shingle installed correctly will outlast its warranty. We do every install to manufacturer spec or better. That is why we offer a full labor warranty on every shingle roof, separate from the manufacturer warranty on the material itself.
Cool roof rated shingles are an option for homes that want the lower attic temperatures and the energy savings. Most LA residential roofs are not required to be cool roof by code, but Title 24 may apply for certain replacements depending on slope and roof area. We confirm the requirement during the inspection and explain the options.

Can I just have the bad section replaced?
Sometimes. If the rest of the roof has at least 5 to 7 years of remaining life and the damage is isolated to one slope, a sectional replacement is a good option. If the rest of the roof is near end of life, full replacement is more cost effective.
What is the difference between architectural and three tab shingles?
Architectural shingles are thicker, longer lasting, and have a dimensional appearance. Three tab shingles are thinner, cheaper, and have a flat appearance. Architectural is now the standard and three tab is rarely specified for new installs in LA.
Is there a labor warranty on shingle installs?
Yes. We offer a full labor warranty on every shingle install, separate from the manufacturer warranty on the material. Specific terms are spelled out in the contract.
